This Privacy Policy describes how Roux LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use Roux (the "Service"), available at https://app.rouxcost.com.

1. Information We Collect

  • Personal identification information (name, email address, and similar contact details) that you voluntarily provide when registering, contacting us, or using our Service.
  • Account credentials including usernames, hashed passwords, and account preferences stored securely to provide you with access to your account.
  • Payment and billing information, including credit/debit card details and billing addresses, processed through our secure third-party payment providers. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
  • Business and recipe data, including recipe names, ingredient costs, labor rates, packaging costs, pricing information, and scenario data that you create and store while using the Service. This data is yours. We do not share, sell, or use your recipe or business data for any purpose other than providing the Service to you.
  • Cookie and session data, including small data files placed on your device that are required for authentication and basic Service functionality.
  • Technical information automatically collected when you use our Service, such as IP addresses, browser identifiers, and session data.

    5. Sharing Your Information

    We may share your information with third parties in the following circumstances:

    • Payment Processors: We share necessary payment information with Stripe to complete transactions. Stripe is contractually obligated to protect your information.
    • Service Providers: We may share information with third-party vendors and service providers who help us operate the Service, subject to confidentiality agreements.
    • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
    • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity.

    We do not sell your personal information or your recipe and business data to any third party.

      6. Data Security

      We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include:

      • Secure storage with access controls and authentication
      • Hashed and salted password storage
      • PCI-DSS compliant payment processing through certified third-party providers

      However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

        7. Data Retention

        We retain your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Account information is retained for the duration of your account's existence. You may request deletion of your account at any time. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.

            8. Account Deletion

            You may delete your account at any time directly from within the Roux app. To delete your account, navigate to your Profile Settings and select "Delete Account." Deleting your account will permanently remove your personal information, recipes, pantry data, and all other data associated with your account from our servers. This action cannot be undone.

            If you experience any issues deleting your account, please contact us at info@rouxcost.com and we will process your request within a reasonable time frame.

                9. Children's Privacy

                Our Service is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at info@rouxcost.com. We will take steps to remove such information from our servers.

                    10. Your Rights Under CCPA (California Residents)

                    If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) provide you with specific rights:
